Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 25 lbs.

 

Do not mind working off a ladder and transporting materials when asked to.

 

The position entails prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, and climbing ladders.

 

You will be reporting reliable transportation every day on site. Most of our clients' venues are in Houston, Katy, and Sugar Land.

 

Punctual: Please arrive on time and be prepared to get to work. Event decorating is fun, but this is a CAREER!

•Own all phases of the client experience from initial contact through product delivery

 

•Represent Event Decorators Houston's mission and purpose through communication, personal appearance, and professionalism

Event Coordinator Houston

​

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

1. Answer phone, email, and respond to client inquiries

2. Create and maintain event files through Microsoft Teams

3. Create order forms and distribute them to general service contractors and clients

4. Collect payment for services before, during, and after the post-event

5. Review and request additional client information to meet their needs before their party or event.

6. Communicate regularly with the event decorator to obtain all relevant information

7. Mark utility orders to the floor plan

8. Interact with another vendor when necessary

9. Organize information and take it back to the office

10. Reconcile paperwork, run reports, and submit the event file and paperwork for final approval

11. Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Reading and interpreting documents and writing routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with co-workers and customers.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to pay attention to detail while working in a fast-paced office, convention center, hotel, or fairground environment.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Individuals may need to sit or stand for long periods and as needed. It may require walking primarily on a level surface throughout the day and reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. It may include lifting to 25 pounds of files on occasion.

TRANSPORTATION: Reliable transportation is required due to varied hours and work locations.

 

Floral Designer Houston

 

As a floral designer, your primary responsibility is to create innovative floral décor and lead floral installation for weddings social, and corporate events.

 

· Must be able to read floral recipes for bouquets, boutonnieres, arrangements, and ceremony florals. Must have an eye for detail and be very creative.

 

· PUNCTUALITY is CRITICAL!

 

· Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license with a good driving history to drive floral vans, if needed, for deliveries.

 

· At times, you will be required to lift 10 lbs.

 

· At times, you will be on your feet for more than eight hours at a time, should the event's needs require you to do so.

 

Job Type:

 

Part-time

 

Pay:

 

$15.00 per hour with room for advancement based on your performance, attendance, and work ethic.

 

Schedule:

 

Workflow is based on weddings booked. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

 

Experience:

 

MUST HAVE AT LEAST THREE (3) YEARS WEDDING RELATED EXPERIENCE

 

Work Location:

 

Primarily in the greater Houston Metroplex, depending upon where the event is booked.
